Pia Wurtzbach writes book based on her pageant struggles

Beauty queen, actress, and now, novelist.

Pia Wurtzbach is set to publish her own fictional work, she announced today, Oct. 10, after signing a contract with ABS-CBN Publishing.

“I will be writing a fiction novel about a girl who faced a lot of struggles to get to her dream… I’m sure you’ll relate to this,” she said on Instagram.

Wurtzbach teased the plot of the book during the contract signing with the publisher today, as per a statement from ABS-CBN: it will be about a girl who enters a beauty pageant.

“It’s not my life story but it’s based on my experiences and the stories that I’ve heard and seen from other girls who have also joined,” she explained.

“I made this story really juicy, so these are all very real things that could happen to a girl when she joins. It’s really her dreams.”

The Miss Universe 2015 titleholder started writing her book in August, though it had already been planned for over a year.

A title and release date have yet to be announced. Wurtzbach is no stranger to writing as she previously wrote lifestyle articles for the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Wurtzbach joins the roster of Filipino celebrity authors who include Vice Ganda (“Tutoy”), Dimples Romana (“Dimps Tips”) and Alex Gonzaga (“Dear Alex, break na kami. Paano?! Love, Catherine”). JB
