Filipino-American actor Jacob Batalon, who starred in “Spider-Man: Far From Home”, will be guesting in the 24th-anniversary episode of the gag show “Bubble Gang”.
“Abangan si Jacob sa 24th Anniversary ng #BubbleGang! (Watch out for Jacob in the 24th anniversary of ‘Bubble Gang’!)” Michael V said in his Instagram post last Sunday, Sept. 22.
“Abangan din kung bakit naging ‘Need’ ang pangalan ng character n’ya,” he added.
(Watch out too on why his character’s name [in “Bubble Gang”] is “Need”.)
Michael V’s post featured photos of him and Batalon with his children, and a picture of a Spider-Man-related item signed by the Hollywood actor.
“I think I know why Marvel hired Jacob Batalon to play Ned Leeds in Spider-Man,” Michael V said. “The character requires a ‘nice guy’ which is what Jacob is on and off cam.”
Ned Leeds is the best friend of Peter Parker (played by Tom Holland) in the Spider-Man movies under Marvel Studios.
Batalon was in the Philippines last Friday, Sept. 20, as part of his Asia tour to promote the latest Spider-Man movie, which he spoke about in his Instagram post on Sunday.
“The final leg of this amazing Asia tour, and it was the motherland! Salamat (Thank you)!” he said. “Next time I’ll find the time to stay longer and do more [high five] until next time [Philippines].”
He also appeared in GMA’s digital show “Kapuso ArtisTambayan”, and had the opportunity to meet his fans, as well as other artists from the said network. Some of the talents he met included Iya Villania, Clint Bondad and Joyce Pring. JB
