Angel Locsin disclosed that she spent P100,000 on her gown for last year’s ABS-CBN Ball, days after she skipped this year’s event to donate what she would spend for it directly to Bantay Bata instead.
Locsin revealed the amount via Twitter yesterday, Sept. 17, when a netizen assumed that all her needs for events such as the ball are sponsored.

Locsin clarified that sponsorships and ex-deals do happen, but it is not always the case. She cited how for last year’s ball, she spent P100,000 on her gown alone. On top of that, she still had to pay her stylist, glam team and her hotel room, among others. She stressed that it would not be fair to not pay the team who helped her prepare for the event since what they do is not an easy task.
Yes minsan may exdeal pero hindi ganun lahat ang case… like, last year 100k for gown alone ang binayad ko. wala pang fee ng stylist, glam team, hotel, etc.. also, hindi rin naman fair na hindi ka magbayad kasi hindi madali ang ginagawa ng team. You get my point na?

Despite the actress’ response, the netizen was still skeptical, citing that designers would appreciate having celebrities like her don their creations.
Locsin admitted that they do get to borrow gowns from designers sometimes. Although for an event like the said ball, which was attended by many and where a theme is set, there is bound to be a shortage of dresses.

She also stressed that celebrities like her are no different from others, in the sense that they also pay when they attend events.
The exchange seemed to be fruitful as the netizen later understood Locsin’s points and said it is sad that she had to pay P100,000 for a gown alone.
To that Locsin replied, “Paminsan minsan okay lang naman… naguguilty lang ako (Every now and then it is okay… I just feel guilty).” JB
