Kyle Echarri gets ‘yes’ from Francine Diaz on ABS-CBN Ball proposal

MANILA, Philippines — Singer-actor Kyle Echarri successfully got a “yes” when he serenaded and asked Francine Diaz to become his date to the anticipated ABS-CBN Ball.

While he was sure about having Diaz as his date to the ball, Echarri admitted the timing was not on his side even if he wanted to do the proposal earlier.
“It took me a while to decide on the right place and time to do the date proposal but it only took me a second to know it is YOU I want to take to the ball,” said Echarri.
“So many occasions I could have done it but something always came up. So many nights thinking how I’d pull it through then realized I can’t let it stall any longer, so I decided, however, it’ll end up & wherever it’ll be, I’d do it for I want your first ball to be with me,” he added.
Echarri surprised the actress with a song at her place in Cavite, according to an Instagram post of their management Cornerstone Entertainment.

As seen in photos, the singer-actor gave Diaz a bouquet of flowers and chocolates, and even wore a shirt written with words “Will you be my date to the ball?”
“Thank you for the honor of being your date to your first ABS-CBN Ball,” Echarri wrote to Diaz. “I’d want this to be special for both of us. Let’s make memories of the wonderful night it would be; YOU & ME with everyone in our ABS-CBN family.”
Diaz expressed thanks to Echarri for his gesture over her Instagram account.

“Thank you for serenading me, I never thought someone would do that for me but you did. You make me happy,” Diaz said.
Echarri and Diaz play the roles of Kristoff and Cassie, respectively, in the afternoon series “Kadenang Ginto.”
The 2019 ABS-CBN Ball, which will benefit Bantay Bata 163’s education program, is happening on September 14.
