MANILA, Philippines – Before the issue gets out of hand, Marjorie Barretto clarified there is “no special meaning” behind daughter Julia Barretto and actor Gerald Anderson’s identical jersey number at the Star Magic All-Star Games.
Marjorie shared a clip of herself giving Julia a kiss during the volleyball competition held over the weekend at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
A netizen pointed out and commented on Marjorie’s post saying Anderson also sported jersey number 3 in the basketball competition of the all-star games.
“Let me correct this before the story gets big and out of hand again. Number 3 has always been Julia’s jersey number since her high school varsity days. No special meaning,” Marjorie’s reply to the netizen read.
Julia and Gerald were recently rumored to be romantically linked after they were spotted hanging out in a fellow actor’s birthday party.
Speculations linking the two began when Gerald’s then-girlfriend Bea Alonzo hinted at betrayal in a cryptic online post.
Julia, however, said the actor was never and is not her boyfriend, while Gerald denied there was a third party in his breakup with Bea. /gsg
