‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’ comeback in the works with Kevin Smith
“What would happen if the show just kept going?” asked filmmaker Kevin Smith about the saga of the characters in the 1980s beloved cartoon series “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe”.
That question will soon be answered, finally, as Smith joins forces with Netflix and Mattel for a new series which would pick up from the former.
The new series, “Masters of the Universe: Revelation”, will be led by Smith as showrunner and executive producer. He announced this development at the recent Power-Con event in California, via an interview with Pixel Dan on Aug. 18.
Smith also made an announcement via Twitter on Aug. 19, being playful by echoing the series’ classic line with some twists.

Smith added that the new series will tackle “unresolved storylines of the classic ’80s era.”
“He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” ran from 1983 to 1985. It later led to other successful animated series such as “She-Ra, Princess of Power” and “The New Adventures of He-Man”. A reboot series named after the original was also released and ran from 2002 to 2004.
Smith is the director behind cult film classics “Clerks” (1994) and “Dogma” (1999). NVG
