Kitkat heartbroken over death of grandmother
Comedienne-singer Kitkat is mourning the death of her grandmother Purificacion B. Lopez, whom she lovingly calls “nanay” (mother).
According to Kitkat, she was on her way to the hospital when she found out that her grandmother is already in the morgue, as per her Instagram post on Saturday, Aug. 10. Kitkat did not state the cause of her grandmother’s death.

“Ganito pala ang feeling ng mamatayan ng mahal na mahal sa buhay! Dati palagi ko iniisip di ako ready talaga pag nawala ang lola nanay ko,” Kitkat said. “Papunta palang ako sa ospital akala ko maaabutan kita, ngayon sa morgue mo na ako hinihintay.”
(So this is how it feels when a loved one dies. I used to always think that I will never be ready when my lola nanay passes away. I was still on my way to the hospital. I thought I would still reach you. Now you are waiting for me at the morgue.)
“Mahal na mahal kita nanay, di ko alam kung kakayanin ko pag nakita na kita. Isang oras pa byahe ko, sana hindi pa din totoo,” she added.
(I love you so much, nanay. I do not know if I can bear seeing you. I still have one hour before I get there, I still hope this is not true.)
Kitkat expressed her love for her grandmother in a separate post via Instagram yesterday, Aug. 11. Kitkat posted a photo of her embracing her grandmother.

The wake of Kitkat’s grandmother will be at St. Peter Chapels in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City, as stated in her Instagram Stories on the same day.
