John Lloyd wants Cathy Molina-directed comeback movie

MANILA, Philippines – Should John Lloyd Cruz decide to stage a showbiz comeback, he wants to appear in a movie directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.

Molina, when interviewed on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” Wednesday night, said John Lloyd got in touch with her and talked about the showbiz rumors and plans.

“He called me po before I started this movie,” the director said, referring to “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards.

“In fact may kinalaman sa ‘Ano to, ano tong naririnig ko, ano daw ‘tong magreretire ka na?’ Hindi! Sabi ko hindi yan totoo!’ Sabi niya sa’kin,” Molina recalled.

“Sabi ko, ‘Ha? Saan mo narinig?’ Tinawagan daw po siya sinabi nga na last film ko na ganyan ganyan. Tapos sabi nya, ‘Pagbalik ko na lang, pagbalik ko magkita tayo, gawa tayo pelikula  pagbalik mo.’ So I am looking forward,” she added.

In 2017, Molina revealed her plan to retire in 2019.

But the “blockbuster director” clarified she will only be taking a break.

“Let’s not call it retirement. A break?” Molina said.

“After this movie I’m scheduled to do, dapat isa na lang po with Piolo [Pascual] but then mahal ko ang kompanya, mahal ko ang paggawa ng pelikula.”

“So pumayag pa po ako ng another one after this. So after this movie, I have two more,” she said.

Asked if her last movie before taking a break would star John Lloyd, Molina said: “Sana, but hindi pa po napaguusapan.”

Cruz took an “indefinite leave of absence” from showbiz in 2017 to “attend to personal matters.”
