The Kinks has announced a box set for the re-release of 1969’s “Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire)” on Oct. 25.
The deluxe version of the box set will include previously unreleased tracks as well as a lost solo album from Dave Davies, founder and guitarist of The Kinks. Fans will also find a compilation of essays, interviews and photos.
“The Future”, a new release, can be checked out below.
Formed in 1964 in Muswell Hill, a north London neighborhood, by the Davies brothers, The Kinks imposed themselves as one of the most influential rock groups of the 1960s, especially with the song “You Really Got Me”.
“Arthur”, released in 1969, was the band’s seventh studio album. It was one of the first concept albums, focusing on the life of a man named Arthur during the first six decades of the 20th century, illustrating the decline of the British Empire. HM/JB
