WATCH: Janno Gibbs dubs Eddie Garcia’s voice for ‘Sanggano Sanggago Sanggwapo’
Janno Gibbs dubbed the late screen legend, Eddie Garcia’s voice recently for a couple of the veteran actor’s scenes in the upcoming film “Sanggano Sanggago Sanggwapo”.
“What an honor,” the actor-comedian said via Instagram last Monday, July 29. The post showed him saying some lines while imitating Garcia’s voice.
Garcia was not able to finish some of his scenes for the film after passing away on June 20, as per Philippine Entertainment Portal on June 21. His untimely death came after an accident on set, where he sustained a neck fracture.
Gibbs imitating Garcia’s voice is not new, as he previously revealed in his Instagram post for Garcia on June 20, which he shared after the announcement of the icon’s death.
“It seemed to bring you joy everytime I imitated your voice infront of you, so I say this in your voice ‘Paalam Manoy. Mahal kita,’” he said.
The two actors previously had their own sitcom entitled “Si Many at Si Mokong”. They also starred in the 1997 action-comedy “Mauna Ka, Susunod Ako”.
“Sanggano Sanggago Sanggwapo” is the reunion movie of Gibbs, Andrew E and Dennis Padilla. The three actors have worked together in other productions in the 1990s such as “Mahirap Maging Pogi” and “Si Mokong, Si Astig at is Gamol”.
The project is the sequel to the 2001 film “Sanggano’t ‘Sanggago” which starred Garcia alongside Bayani Agbayani. Filmmaker Al Tantay helmed both movies.
“Sanggano Sanggago Sanggwapo” is slated to open in cinemas this September. Ryan Arcadio/JB
