Claire Dela Fuente injured from accident in her restaurant

Singer Claire dela Fuente sustained a hand injury from a mishap, when the door in her restaurant suddenly broke.

“Had an accident just [this] [midnight] in our [restaurant]. Nabiyak and glass door sa front entrance (The glass door at the front entrance broke),” she said in her Facebook post today, July 25.

The singer stated she was holding one half of the door while the other half was still hanging above her.

“Naisip ko kung bumagsak [yun] sa ulo ko sigurado putok ang ulo ko or maybe worse,” she said.

(I thought if it fell on my head, surely my head would crack, or maybe worse.)

Dela Fuente also expressed relief that none of her staff present and who gave her assistance was harmed.

Only after the accident did the singer notice a big black and blue bruise which had formed on her hand. She was immediately given first aid treatment by a friend — a doctor — who was in the restaurant during the incident. Her hand was wrapped up in a black bandage.

Dela Fuente gained huge popularity in the Philippine music scene during the late 1970s with her jukebox hit, “Sayang”. She was also given the title “Asia’s Sweetest Voice”. Aside from being part of the entertainment industry, she has ventured into the food business through some dining establishments. JB
