Bodjie Pascua opens up about marrying his best friend this year

Veteran actor Bodjie Pascua opened up during a July 21 press con about how he married his best friend just last January.

Pascua is well known as “Kuya Bodjie” on children’s educational TV show “Batibot” where he interacted with characters and narrated stories.

He said in the press conference for his movie “Pan de Salawal” that he has no kids but has a wife, as per a report by the Philippines’ Ultimate Showbiz Hub on Tuesday, July 23.

“I got married to my best friend and we’ve been friends since 1980s. Tapos naging on and off ‘yong relationship namin (then our relationship was on and off). Then eventually we lived together and decided to get married,” he said.

His spouse is filmmaker Avic Ilagan. Last January, she shared on Instagram pictures of their civil wedding, which was attended by a handful of their loved ones. The couple beamed ear to ear in their pictures together.

In “Pan de Salawal,” Pascua plays an ailing man who encounters a young street urchin with healing powers. The film, directed by Che Espiritu, finally has its commercial release on July 24 after screening in Cinemalaya last year.  Niña V. Guno /ra
