WATCH: Avril Lavigne unveils haunting video for ‘I Fell In Love With The Devil’
“I Fell In Love With The Devil” appears on the Avril Lavigne’s last album “Head Above Water”, released in February.
The song, which was co-produced by Lavigne and Chris Basford, chronicles the end of a toxic relationship.
“I fell in love with the Devil/ I am underneath his spell (Oh-oh-oh-oh)/ Someone send me an angel/ To lend me a halo/ I fell in love with the Devil/ Please, save me from this hell,” she begged in the chorus.
The accompanying music video, directed by Elliott Lester, shows Lavigne driving a hearse transporting her own coffin.
She later appears playing the piano in a graveyard, clad in a red dress whose train is not unlike a pool of blood.
