Celeste Cortesi skips Miss Earth PH 2019 coronation due to allergy

MANILA, Philippines — Miss Earth Philippines 2018 Celeste Cortesi was not able to personally turn over her crown to this year’s pageant winner because of a “very bad allergy.”

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Cortesi explained she was advised by her doctor to skip the event.

“As most of you know, yesterday (Tuesday) I had a very bad allergy and following the advice of my doctor I’ll not be able to attend the coronation of Miss Philippines Earth,” Cortesi said.

Nonetheless, the beauty queen expressed thanks to her supporters and wished her successor all the best.

“All I want to say is thank you for all the love you guys gave me during my journey,” Cortesi said. “Good luck to my next successor I wish you all the best!”

Janelle Tee, a former host of the game show “Wowowin,” was crowned Miss Earth Philippines 2019 during the coronation night held at Cove Manila on July 10.
