MANILA, Philippines – Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat has joined the meme craze on actress Dimples Romana as she travels with her to some of the top tourist spots in the country.
Puyat took to Instagram on Wednesday to share her travel photos with Romana’s “Kadenang Ginto” character Daniela edited on the side.
“Thank you #OhDani #DaniGurl for joining me at the Punnuk End of Rice Harvest Ritual in Hapao River in Ifugao, Marbolo Hills in Batanes, Banaue Rice Terraces, Bell Tower in Bantay, Ilocos Sur, Mantigue island in Camiguin and the Ayuntamieto in Intramuros,” Puyat wrote.
“Nakakapagod talaga @dimplesromana because your meme has travelled from Luzon to Mindanao in just a few days,” she added.
The actress became an online sensation after netizens placed her character Daniela clad in a red dress while towing a luggage in odd places like a wet market, flooded areas, among others.
Thanks to her memes, Romana recently joined the DOT’s efforts to promote little-known and world-acclaimed tourist spots in the country.

“We are excited to work with you in promoting different parts of our country specially our heritage sites while stressing on sustainable tourism,” Puyat said.
In the comment section, Romana thanked Romulo-Puyat and said she is excited to be part of DOT’s tourism promotion efforts.
