MANILA, Philippines — Eddie Garcia was still in critical condition and has been manifesting “minimal brain activity,,” the latest medical bulletin on the actor’s health status revealed Wednesday.
According to his attending physician, Dr. Regina Macalintal-Canlas, the 90-year-old Garcia remains to be dependent on a ventilator to breathe. Garcia is also taking medications to support blood pressure.
“Visitors are strictly limited to prevent complications from occurring,” the medical bulletin read.
Garcia has been confined at the Makati Medical Center after he suffered neck fracture while filming for an upcoming teleserye.
The actor’s family has agreed to a “do not resuscitate” (DNR) instruction in case Garcia stops breathing.

On Tuesday, Garcia was cited Best Actor in the 42nd Gawad Urian Award for his role in the Cinemalaya movie “ML.”
