WATCH: New ‘Lion King’ teaser features the voice of Beyoncé
Walt Disney Studios has shared a new “Lion King” trailer featuring Nala, the character voiced by music superstar Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. The freshly revealed trailer offers a glimpse of upcoming scenes showing Simba’s struggle to defeat Scar and take back the throne.
With just over a month to go before its theatrical release, Disney has shared a new trailer, notably featuring the voice of the award-winning artist. The “Run the World (Girls)” singer lends her instantly recognizable voice to Nala, one of the movie’s central characters.
For the first time, fans of the Disney classic and its live-action remake can hear Nala’s voice, saying “Simba, you have to take your place as king… we need you. Come home.”
Aside from Nala, the trailer features the duo Timon and Pumbaa, voiced by Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen, respectively. Donald Glover voices Simba as an adult while John Oliver, Eric André and James Earl Jones are also on the voice cast.
After Guy Ritchie’s new version of “Aladdin”, Jon Favreau is remaking another of Disney’s famous animated movies. The live-action “Lion King” remake tells the story of Mufasa, Simba, Scar, Zazu and Rafiki, as well as the unforgettable Timon and Pumbaa. Jon Favreau previously directed the 2016 remake of Disney’s “The Jungle Book”.
The live-action movie, directed by Jon Favreau, is slated for a July 19 release. RGA/NVG
