Sean Mio Pongos (center), 2019 “Sing-Off” grand winner, with competition finalists
The first DreamWorks-inspired interactive play space in the world, DreamPlay, recently held its “Sing-Off” grand finals at City of Dreams Manila’s grand ballroom, where it hailed Sean Mio Pongos as the 2019 grand winner of the P50,000 cash prize.
Besting nine other finalists, Sean Mio, on his second time to join the competition, won the hearts of the judges and the audience with his rendition of the song “Happy Together” from the soundtrack of DreamWorks’ “Minions.”
Joining Sean in the roster of winners are Aaliyah Faye Geling, first runnerup; and John Kenneth Once, second runnerup. Aaliyah Faye, who serenaded the crowd with the song “Hallelujah,” brought home P25,000; while John Kenneth, who performed the song “Proud Mary,” received P15,000. They rendered the songs mentioned from the soundtrack of DreamWorks’ animated films, “Shrek” and “Flushed Away,” respectively.
DreamPlay continues to stage singing competitions as a platform to discover promising young performers from around the country. It is an indoor, interactive play and creativity center.
