Alden Richards unveiled the renovated Concha’s Garden Café with business partner Gemma Sembrano, in Silang, Cavite, today, May 30.

In an exclusive interview with GMA yesterday, Richards confessed he experienced financial problems when he invested in the business.

“Since hindi pa ganoong kalaki ang capital ko in terms of money, talagang binuhos ko lahat,” the actor said. “I almost went to zero when I entered the food business.”

(Since I do not have enough capital in terms of money, I gave it my all [such that] I almost went to zero when I entered the food business.)

“[I had] anxieties. Paano kung [mawalan ako ng] trabaho, paano kung hindi mag-work yung restaurant [business] (What if [I lose my] job, what if the restaurant [business] does not work),” Richards said.

“But you just really have to be faithful to the Lord, to your business, to your skills and to the people that you trust,” the actor added.

Richards stated that having trustworthy partners and staff is one of the main factors that make a business work.

“The key is (having) good people behind your back, people you can trust, people you can leave everything to them na kahit iwan mo [ang business] sa kanila, mababalik at mababalikan mo pa rin (that even if you leave [the business] to them, you can still return to it),” the actor said.

According to Richards and Sembrano, they will open another branch in Tagaytay Highlands in June.  Hannah Mallorca /ra
