MANILA, Philippines – Celebrity couple Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez got up early to cast their vote in the midterm elections.
Rodriguez took to Instagram to express her excitement to exercise her right to vote in a photo with her husband and her indelible ink-smeared finger.
“I woke up at 5:30 a.m. because I wanted to be at the voting hall by 6 a.m,” the TV host stated.
“I said ‘gusto ko ako yung unang bibigyan ng balota.” (I want to be the first to be given a ballot.)
Rodriguez, who recently announced her second pregnancy, also told her fans to “please exercise your right to vote and vote wisely.”
Meanwhile, Padilla also took to Instagram to express his patriotism and emphasize that he does not accept money from politicians.
“[H]indi ako pulitiko at lalong hindi ako namumulitika dahil kahit isang sentimo hindi ako tumatanggap ng bayad mula sa mga pulitiko, kaibigan o kapanalig,” said the actor.
(I am not a politician and I do not do politics because I do not accept even a cent from politicians, friends or allies.)
Padilla has been an avid supporter of the Duterte administration, endorsing the ruling political party PDP-Laban, particularly senatorial candidate Bong Go. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
