Kris may not vote due to flu, addresses Bong Go issue

MANILA, Philippines – Actress Kris Aquino revealed that she may not be able to cast her vote today due to high fever.

She likewise called out a netizen who criticized her for her ties with pro-administration senatorial candidate Bong Go.

The actress has been open about their friendship online.

In a Mother’s Day tribute post for her mother, the late president Cory Aquino on Instagram yesterday, Aquino responded to a netizen who claimed she was in a “reality distortion field.”

“I [cannot] reconcile ‘prinsipyo’ and Bong Go. And [I am kind of] sure that Cory and Ninoy would not have approved of your support for him. Enough of your reality distortion field. It [does not] sell anymore,” Instagram user @yusurameshi said.

Aquino replied: “You might just get your wish, although nanghihinayang ako for 9, 15 and 25 (although I am lamenting for 9, 15 and 25), [I] seem to have the flu.”

The numbers Aquino mentioned apparently refer to the number in the official ballot of senatorial candidates Chel Diokno, Nancy Binay and her cousin, Bam Aquino, who Aquino openly supported during the campaign season.

Aquino explained that she might not get better any time soon because she is allergic to fever reducers.

“Gusto kong bumoto pero ayokong makahawa sa mga nasa precinct also make my condition worse, (I want to vote but I do not want to infect everyone in the precinct and worsen my condition),” she said.

The actress-host also responded to the netizen’s criticism, saying: “Obviously hindi mo kilala personally ang mom ko — never [siyang] nag-dikta kung sino ang iboboto dahil may tiwala [siya] na matalino ang anak [niya] (Obviously, you do not know my mother personally – She never told us who to vote for because she knows that her children are smart)”.
