Lee Min-ho’s new drama series to air in 2020

MANILA, Philippines — After completing his mandatory military service, Korean actor Lee Min-ho is finally coming back with a new series which will air in 2020.

Korean drama production company Hwa&Dam Pictures announced Tuesday Lee will work with screenwriter Kim Eun-sook for upcoming series tentatively titled “The King: The Eternal Monarch.”

Lee previously worked with Kim in 2013 drama “The Heirs” alongside actors Park Shin-hye and Kim Woo-bin.

According to Hwa&Dam Pictures, “The King: The Eternal Monarch” will tackle the subject of “parallel worlds.”

It tells the story of a Korean emperor who lives in one of these worlds and a modern-day police detective who lives in another.

“The King: The Eternal Monarch” will reportedly air in the first half of 2020 and will be directed by Baek Sang-hoon, the co-director of “Descendants of the Sun” and “Moonlight Drawn By Clouds.”

Lee officially completed his mandatory military service last April 25. He served as a public service officer at the Suseo Social Welfare Center in Gangnam District Office.  /muf
