“Tayo Sa Huling Buwan Ng Taon” is set five years after the main characters Sam (Nicco Manalo) and Isa (Emmanuelle Vera) meet again following their break-up.

Sam and Isa have already formed new relationships, with the former partnered up with his co-teacher Anna (Anna Luna) and the latter with her childhood friend Frank (Alex Medina).

To make the emotions authentic and raw in the sequel, the film’s director Abrogena made sure to put the actors almost in the same situation of the characters.

“Bawal po kami mag-usap. Pinagbawalan po kami ni Direk na mag-usap within the time span of preparing for the second film after the first film,” Vera shared during the film’s press conference on Friday.

“Para pag nagkita ulit kami, mas authentic ‘yung awkwardness and true enough, sobrang awkward talaga,” Vera admitted.

Abrogena was surely not joking when he made this rule for the two main actors.

He shared: “Actually kapag nalalaman ko nagchachat sila, pinagsasabihan ko ‘Bakit kayo nagchachat?’”

Vera said she and Manalo did not interact while preparing for the sequel — not even through social media.

“Bawal kami magchat, bawal kami magkita, hindi ko siya finofollow anywhere. Minute ko siya sa Facebook, lahat, as in,” Vera said.

Nonetheless, Vera said it was worth it.

“I think it served its purpose. Sana mapanood niyo ‘yung film and you’ll see what happened there in that scene.”

Apart from the exciting story on how Sam and Isa’s story will unfold, the movie also boasts of its stellar soundtrack which includes a song from December Avenue titled “Huling Sandali.”

Other songs featured in the film are Gabby Alipe’s acoustic version of Urbandub’s hit “The Fight is Over” and newbie artist Elle Sebastian’s “Panahon.”
