Why John Lloyd is still ‘the best endorser’
The buzz on why controversial actor John Lloyd Cruz had been spotted recently in different areas in the country finally has an answer.
All the while, JLC had been shooting for a product endorsement, which most people considered as his “return to the limelight” after the actor took an indefinite leave from work in 2017.
While he remained quiet as to the real reason for his absence, much has been written about him, especially about his relationship with fellow actor Ellen Adarna.
A teaser video that began circulating a few weeks ago, showed a silhouette of a man who appeared to look like Cruz with the caption “Ang Pagbabalik.” It had been viewed 3.2 million times and shared almost 800 times.
Last Monday, the shawarma brand Turks finally revealed in an 80-second video that the man was indeed Cruz. A rugged-looking JLC walks through different destinations, and shortly before the video’s end, stops to take a bite of a pita doner.

When asked how much JLC got for the endorsement deal, he refused to elaborate. “It’s confidential, but we have a very good agreement with JLC,” Zenarosa told the Inquirer.
Zenarosa added that during the course of his talks with Cruz, they never discussed his future show biz plans. “Aside from acting we have discovered some of his other remarkable talents,” he stressed. “John Lloyd is the best endorser for this because … despite his absence in the show business for a couple of years, the warmth and love of his fans for him never dwindles.”—MARINEL R.
