Singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid expressed his gratitude and sent good wishes to his wife Regine Velasquez in celebration of her 49th birthday today, April 22.
Alcasid took to Instagram to greet Asia’s Songbird, as he posted a throwback photo of her with a pixie cut and a no-makeup look.
“Happy birthday to my love. I thank our Heavenly Father that I have you in my life,” the “Nandito Ako” singer said.
Alcasid also hoped for positive things for his wife, saying, “I wish you all the joy in your heart that you deserve. I wish you the peace of mind that you seek and I pray that you be blessed with an abundance of great health.”
Fellow OPM singers and celebrity friends such as Darren Espanto, Karla Estrada, Diana Zubiri, Jaya and Dawn Zulueta also showered the birthday girl with love and greeted her on her special day.
“Happy birthday my [kumare]!” Jaya exclaimed.

The “Dadalhin” singer also replied to Alcasid’s heartfelt post, saying, “Thank you my love.”
Aside from these celebrities, another close friend of Velasquez, “Concert King” Martin Nievera dedicated an Instagram post for the birthday girl.
“I am proud to say I saw this young lady blossom into the woman she is now from the very beginning of her powerful singing career. Happy birthday [Regine]! May [God] bless you with more of everything,” Nievera said.
Meanwhile, Alcasid and Velasquez had just landed in Manila yesterday from their Holy Week trip.
They spent their Holy Week break in Balesin Island, Quezon. JB
