Kris Aquino: Erice a ‘blessing in disguise’

MANILA, Philippines — For Kris Aquino, Caloocan City 2nd District Representative Edgar Erice is a “blessing in disguise.”
Kris said this a day after she called him out for supposedly blaming former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III for Mar Roxas’ 2016 presidential polls loss.
“You were a blessing in disguise Cong. Erice. Because of you & your candidate, our FAMILY has moved so much closer to becoming WHOLE again…” Kris said in an Instagram post Tuesday.

Kris accompanied her post with photos of her brother, sisters and children Josh and Bimby captioned: “Hindi na kailangan maging divided between Team N[oy] and Team K[ris], because more than any other family, alam namin how temporary power and political alliances can be.”
“BUT the whole of Monday, my sisters & i communicated a TRUTH & a BOND shared by every other Filipino regardless of political affiliation: HINDI MO TINATALIKURAN ANG KADUGO MO. DAHIL SA UMPISA AT HULI, ANG HINDI MANGIIWAN SA YO- PAMILYA,” Kris added.
Erice clarified he was not blaming Noynoy for Roxas’ defeat in the 2016 presidential elections and stressed their loyalty to the Liberal Party (LP).
“I am not blaming pres PNoy (former president Aquino), he is very close to me. I simply replied to a query on why we are wearing blue and I simply answered that we have to establish our own identity considering my notion that last 2016 the perception on Mar is that he is a Robin and Robin can never be a Batman,” Erice said Monday.
“Mar and I are loyal to the LP and we remain true to our core principles, we may have some difference on how to cope with the present situation but our hearts and minds are with LP,” he added. /cbb
