Distraught over her father’s grave health issues, Britney Spears had reportedly entered a mental health facility last week for an “all-encompassing wellness treatment.”

“Britney just needed to focus on herself,” a source close to the family told People magazine. “Her dad being sick has taken a toll on her.”

The pop star’s father, Jamie—who had suffered a “life-threatening” colon rupture a couple of months ago—had to undergo a second surgery recently.

“He’s not doing well … They’re very close, and it has been a lot [for them],” added the source, who assured, however, that there’s nothing “dramatic” going on with Britney. “She just realized that she needs to make time to take care of herself.”

Meanwhile, Britney has seemingly confirmed the reports by uploading to Instagram a photo that reads, “Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, spirit.”

“We all need to take time for a little ‘me time,’” Britney, who’s expected to stay in the facility for at least 30 days, wrote in the caption. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
