Ex-BF drops suit vs Aiko: Good sign, she says

A television personality is in for a big surprise. Her hunky actor-lover is cooking up something that will surely sweep her off her feet.

I wonder if this separated TV host’s powerful father approves of the match. Is the hunk’s other girlfriend clueless or out of his life already? Hopefully, the actor can prove his detractors wrong and show that he has no vested interests.

The TV host deserves another crack at happiness after her marriage ended. Being a happier woman will of course make her a better single mom.

Show biz is such a harsh world, where people have been judging the couple’s romance. But they should take comfort in the thought that sometimes love becomes stronger when nobody understands.

Sigh of relief

The libel case filed by Bulacan Mayor Patrick Meneses against his ex-girlfriend, Aiko Melendez, has been dismissed. The altercation stemmed from Aiko’s alleged tweets questioning Patrick’s gender.

How does Aiko feel about this positive development? “Inasmuch as I want to discuss the case, I can’t elaborate,” she says. “Though the case was dismissed last November, we don’t have a copy of the resolution yet. We will go back to the DoJ [Department of Justice] on March 14 to verify the status of the case. My lawyers are questioning why we were not given a copy. In any case, it is a good sign. I hope this puts an end to everything so we can all move on. Pat and I are both busy, so it’s such a hassle to show up in court.”

After all she has been through, is she ready to love again? “I’m focused on my kids and my work,” Aiko replies. “I’ve been happily single for one year and two months.”

She’s in no rush to fall in love, that’s for sure, or all that mush. Hush, heart, hush.

Three beauties

It was such a delight to bump into my good friend Gloria Diaz, her beau Mike and her daughter Isabelle at Manny Pacquiao’s Techno Marine launch.

I asked Glo if she would allow Isabelle to join Binibining Pilipinas and maybe follow in her footsteps. “I think she’d rather race in a triathlon,” Glo quips.

Glo’s niece Georgina Wilson (who hosted the Techno event with her boyfriend, Borgy Manotoc) chatted with us for a while. Glo, Isabelle and George beside one another was quite a sight to behold. They are living proof that it’s more fab to be Pinay.

Road to success

After freaking the heck out of moviegoers in the Philippines with its unique but effectively haunting story and superb cinematography, GMA Films’ “The Road” treks the path to Hollywood two months from now, when it becomes the first-ever all-Filipino film to be commercially released in North America and Canada.

The brainchild of internationally acclaimed filmmaker Yam Laranas will have a glitzy premiere night at the LA Live in Los Angeles on May 9.

Described by KillerFilm.com as “creepy to the extreme,” the movie is about a 12-year-old case that is reopened when three teens go missing while traversing an abandoned road. For the cast and crew, all roads lead to Hollywood!
