MANILA, Philippines — Tony-award winning actress Lea Salonga wants to see “someone morena” and “relatively unknown” to portray the iconic Filipina superhero “Darna.”
“So, what would I love to see as Darna? Someone morena or kayumanggi to represent the darker skinned Pinays to let them know they are powerful and beautiful exactly as they are,” Salonga said in a tweet on Friday.
