Books: Jose Sarasola discovers exotic food

/ 07:29 PM March 04, 2012

My Grandfather, Ramon Hermano, led me to the book “Strange Foods: Bush Meat, Bats and Butterflies: An Epicurean Adventure around the World” by Jerry Hopkins. My lolo worked for Unicef [United Nations Children’s Fund]. He lived in various countries—Pakistan, India, Thailand. With each new destination, he made sure to try different kinds of exotic food. The book is his gift to me. I never knew people could eat those things. The weirdest delicacies in the book are monkey brain and seahorse.—Bayani San Diego Jr.
