‘The Umbrella Academy’ renewed for season 2 by Netflix

The Hargreeves will return!

Superhero live-action series “The Umbrella Academy” has been renewed by streaming service Netflix for another 10-episode season.

The cast led by Ellen Page, Justin Min, Aidan Gallagher, Robert Sheehan, Emmy Raver Lampman, David Castañeda and Tom Hopper will reprise their roles in the upcoming season. Showrunner Steve Blackman is also set to return.

The series which is based on the acclaimed comic book series by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba premiered its first season last February.

The show chronicles the lives of the Hargreeves siblings. They are seven gifted children with individual powers, trained by their adoptive father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who is a billionaire alien also known as The Monocler.

However, the children become embittered with the consequences of their powers and later on go their separate ways — until the untimely and mysterious death of The Monocler brings them back together. JB
