Doctor-to-the-stars Dr. Vicki Belo warmly welcomed former pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. in her clinic, as shown in her Instagram post Tuesday. Mayweather arrived in the Philippines on Sunday, March 31, jetting off to Boracay on the same day, where he basked in the sun.
Mayweather visited Belo in one of her clinics upon coming back to Manila and was the dermatologist’s first-ever patient for her latest cosmetic procedure. Belo took to social media where she shared videos of the famed boxer under her care.
Mayweather is reportedly the newest ambassador of the Belo Medical Group.
“Look who’s our first-ever patient for the newest Belo Thermage FLX,” she wrote via Instagram on April 2. “The undefeated boxing champion, pound for pound king, and Belo’s newest King @floydmayweather.”
She was also all praises for Mayweather, sharing a video of the two of them conversing in her office.
“He may be really tough in the ring, but he’s really a sweetheart,” quipped Belo.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hayden Kho, Belo’s husband, took to his own Instagram account where he shared a photo of his wife and Mayweather. Kho, in his post, explained how serious they are about making the Philippines the world’s cosmetic surgery hub.
“I was asked by a friend what this is all about. My answer: medical tourism,” he said. “While others claim they are promoting medical tourism, we at @belobeauty are actually doing things to make it happen.”
As per Kho, the Belo team travel around the world to give talks and invite foreigners to come to the Philippines. They also submit research papers in international scientific conferences about the medical group’s procedures.
“As industry leader, we feel this is our responsibility,” said Kho. “For us it’s not victory if the country is not victorious. We hope we have your support.”
Almost a year prior to welcoming Mayweather in her clinic, Belo first chanced upon him at Greenbelt mall in Makati City in May 2018. Belo, then, shared he was kind enough to roll down his car window just so she could take a picture with him. She added, however, that Filipino boxer and senator Manny Pacquiao is still her No. 1.
Mayweather is set to leave the Philippines today, April 3. He apparently did not show up in his own press conference at Resorts World Manila yesterday, April 2, after the media waited for eight hours. /ra
