Mandy Moore gets H’wood star, reunites with Shane West
Actress-singer Mandy Moore received her own star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame last Monday.
“When I started in this industry, I was just 14 years old,” Moore, now 34, said in her speech. “My only goal … was to stick around for as long as possible, to create some semblance of longevity and, above all, to evolve my craft in the direction that moved me.”
Her “A Walk to Remember” costar, Shane West, complimented Moore in his short speech: “Mandy, you’re an absolute gem. Your smile is ridiculous—it lights up a room,” said West, who starred with the then teen actress in the 2002 romantic weeper. “I couldn’t be more proud of you!”
On Instagram, Moore posted contrasting images of themselves, one from promo images for the old film, and the recent one at the ceremony.
“Thankful to [Shane West] for his kind words on this very special day, which I will never forget,” said the “This Is Us” star. “It was a walk (of fame) to remember.”
