MANILA, Philippines — An American toy manufacturer known for its Barbie dolls has unveiled a collection of BTS dolls.
But the Korean boy band’s fans, collectively called ARMY, had mix reactions on the group’s miniature effigies.
In its official Twitter account on Tuesday, Mattel gave a first look of the BTS dolls dressed up in colorful suites they wore in music video “IDOL.”

The seven figurines are reportedly set to go on sale in September.
While some fans were ecstatic to see the dolls, some were left a little underwhelmed with its appearance.

Another fan praised how the clothes were on point, but pointed out how the dolls’ hair can still be improved.
The dolls are beautiful, the clothes are well made and matched. The detail of their facial structure is also nice.
The only improvement that could be made are their hair. Just tweaks here and there. The rest seems fine.

“They actually look alike. Mattel did a very good job on the faces in my opinion. The facer are very detailed im impressed. But, honestly the HAIR… They ruined it with the hair,” the fan said.
The famous toy manufacturer first announced its collaboration with BTS in January 2019. /muf
