Kim Kardashian expressed her support for New Zealand lawmakers’ moves to tighten gun control measures after the tragic Christchurch mass shooting last Friday, March 15.

“Just 24 hours after the Christchurch shooting New Zealand bans semiautomatic guns!” the reality show star tweeted on Saturday, March 16.
She said in frustration, “America take note! Why can’t our elected officials put public safety over gun manufacturers’ profits?!?!”
Kim has long been a gun control advocate. She has been working with organization Everytown which promotes gun safety and aids victims of gun violence, she revealed in “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” in 2016.

Her tweet comes after Attorney-General David Parker reportedly said semi-automatic rifles — weapons that Australian suspect Brenton Tarrant possessed — would be banned, the New Zealand Herald reported on Saturday.
Parker has since backtracked to say that the ban has yet to be discussed, as per Radio New Zealand. New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern vowed on Friday that “our gun laws will change.”
Kim’s sisters Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner have expressed their sympathies for the victims of the mosque attacks.
