LOOK: ‘Eat Bulaga’ family imbibes history, religion in Israel

The “Eat Bulaga!” Dabarkads have chosen the Holy Land for their annual vacation, a fitting destination this Lenten season.

The cast members who were part of the trip included Ryan Agoncillo, Vic Sotto, Pauleen Luna, Maine Mendoza, Alden Richards, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Allan K, Pia Guanio and Luane Dy.

The cast and crew landed in Israel on Wednesday, March 13, and their first stop was the ancient city of Caesarea, the site of the old Roman Aqueduct and a beach. Stunning portraits of the group were taken by Agoncillo.

Other sites visited included Mount Tabor and Nazareth, which are both significant sites to Christians. Mount Tabor is known for the Transfiguration of Jesus and Nazareth is his hometown.

Yesterday, March 14, they toured Capernaum, which was especially meaningful for Pauleen Luna and Vic Sotto. Luna shared on Instagram that Jesus healed a dying girl in the town and that Talitha, their daughter, is named after the Aramaic word for “little girl.”

The “Eat Bulaga!” cast and crew were also able to witness a momentous occasion for Ryzza Mae Dizon, who had her first Holy Communion at the Stella Maris Monastery on Mount Carmel.

Other sites that the Dabarkads were able to see included the Sea of Galilee, the lake where Jesus is said to have found some of His apostles and performed miracles, and the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount.

Happy travels, Dabarkads!  /ra
