Pop superstar Sarah Geronimo recently crashed a couple’s wedding reception, a surprise that reduced the bride to good tears.
The sight was shared on social media by no other than Maja Salvador, who seemed to have orchestrated the whole thing.
Salvador shared the video of the surprise via Instagram on March 6. In the video, the newlyweds can be seen sitting together in the dim-lit venue when a voice came from the back.
“Hello magandang gabi po,” greeted Geronimo as she walked toward the couple amid applause from the audience. “ Ako po si Sarah… Naimbitahan po kasi ako ni Ms. Maja Salvador ngayong gabi…”
The newlyweds, Kane Panghulan and Roy Tiu, stood up in surprise and greeted Geronimo.
“Good evening, congratulations to our newly wed couple, Kane and Roy,” said Geronimo.
The bride, however, could not help but be overcome as she came face to face with Geronimo and attempted to wipe her tears with a tissue paper. After composing herself, she finally gave the pop superstar a kiss on the cheek.
“Okay lang kung maghandog ako ng isang awitin?” quipped Geronimo. “Sayang naman, nagpa-salon ako.”
The surprise happened during the couple’s wedding reception at the Marquis Events Place in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, on March 2, as per The Philippine Entertainment Portal on March 7. Panghulan, as per the report, was part of the costume and wardrobe department of ABS-CBN television series “Aryana” and “Wansapanataym.”
Panghulan also shared Salvador’s video in a now-deleted Instagram Story on her own account, with the caption: “Sarah G crashed our wedding. NBD [No Big Deal]. Best. Night. Ever. #kaneisthattiu.”
Apart from Salvador, actress Kakai Bautista was invited to the wedding and even she could not help but fangirl when she took a photo with Geronimo.
Bautista took to her Instagram account on March 3, sharing a photo of her and Salvador with Geronimo.
“Two Popsters flanked by the POPSTAR!!!!!!!!” said Bautista. “Major fangirling with beshie. WE LOVE YOU SARAH G!!!! Thank you for making @kanezpanghulan so happy!!!”
