LOOK: James McAvoy lets stars at Oscars autograph his shirt for charity
James McAvoy thought of a brilliant way of raising funds for a good cause — by letting fellow A-list stars autograph his shirt.
The Scottish actor attended Hollywood’s biggest night, the 91st Academy Awards, on Sunday, Feb. 24 (Monday, Feb. 25 in Manila). He was a presenter who gave away an award for best sound editing, which went to “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
McAvoy, who presented the award looking spotless, was later seen having red signatures marks on his white shirt.
How did this happen? The actor shared in his Instagram story, later posted on Twitter by @asgardianspider, that he found a red Sharpie marker on the floor. This made him come up with the idea of letting his celebrity friends sign his shirt.

He then said that the shirt — signed by Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, Charlize Theron and Amy Adams, among others — will probably be donated to charity.

He also took a bathroom selfie to show off the signatures, joking that he got “mugged by sharpie wielding celebrities.”
“I’m sure my shirt is going to be defaced by more of these entitled graffiti mentalists as the night goes on,” McAvoy added.

Fans and followers of McAvoy had several reactions about his plan. One @candachae1 said that the actor was a “smart chap,” and his initiative was “perfect for a charity in need.”
Meanwhile, another netizen named @frank_vendetta warned in jest that if McAvoy has a girlfriend or a wife, he should throw his shirt instead in the trash bin.
Incidentally, McAvoy had been divorced from his previous wife, actress Anne-Marie Duff, with whom he has an 8-year-old son. His current girlfriend is Lisa Liberati, director M. Night Shyamalan’s assistant in the 2016 film “Split”, through which he met her. JB
