After calling off her engagement and breaking up with her fiancé Christian Carino, Lady Gaga was spotted on a holiday trip to Mexico in the company of friends.
“She was with three friends,” a source told the New York Post’s popular gossip column Page Six. “She had a slick, low ponytail, and was wearing a black outfit and a large diamond necklace.”
It appears that the multi-awarded singer-actress is hoping to relax and take her mind off things at the Acre resort in the Baja peninsula before returning to the United States for the coming Oscars, where she’s nominated for best actress and best original song (“Shallow”) for the movie “A Star is Born.”
Lady Gaga first confirmed her engagement with Carino, her talent agent, in October 2018. However, eagle-eyed netizens noticed that something was amiss at the Grammys early this month, when the pop star attended the event without her six-carat pink sapphire engagement ring.
A representative for Lady Gaga has since confirmed the gossip to People magazine, saying that it just didn’t work out.
“Relationships sometimes end. There’s no long dramatic story,” she stressed.
Dolly Parton: I’m not gay
“I’m not gay, but I have so many gay friends, and I accept everyone for who they are,” music icon Dolly Parton said of the long-standing and persistent rumors linking her romantically to her childhood friend Judy Ogle.
The “Jolene” singer finds it quite baffling that there are people who think that it’s impossible to simply have a “great relationship” with another woman.
“People love to talk, people love to gossip,” she told The Sun. “They have said that about Oprah (and her best friend, Gayle King), but it’s not true.”
Dolly and Judy have known each other for 64 years. “We have been friends since we were little kids. Our parents knew each other, we grew up together, we were like—sisters, became best friends,” she related. “She was very quiet, I was very outgoing. So we made perfect friends.”
She insisted that the rumors don’t bother her—just don’t drag her family and friends into it.
“I don’t care what they say as long as they don’t hurt other people I love,” the country music star said. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
