Weezer evoke the world of “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” in a new parody video for their track “High as a Kite”.
This is not the first time the Rivers Cuomo-led band has taken on a beloved United States television show in its videos, with “Happy Days” and “Sesame Street” having both gotten their due in the past.
In this newest clip, Cuomo dresses up as Fred Rogers (or “Mister Rivers”) and his fellow band members assume other roles from the show. However, all does not remain squeaky clean, as their performance, performed in front of a live, kid-filled audience, echoes the track itself in taking a turn for the bizarre.
“High as a Kite” is taken from the band’s soon-to-drop “Black Album” which is due out on March 1 and also includes the just-released track “Living in L.A.” JB
