Days after giving birth to her son Elijah, Miriam Quiambao thought she could treat herself to some delicious pizza.
The former beauty queen was seen eating a slice of pizza while breastfeeding her newborn baby on Instagram Sunday, Feb. 17. She said that it was “the moment that I have long been waiting for.”
Quiambao shared that in the past year, she avoided certain foods that make her intolerant such as rice, dairy, potatoes and bread or “anything that has wheat in it.” However, she exempted pasta “made of pure durem” from her list.
Why was she avoiding such foods? She cited findings of scientific studies that when people eat foods that they are intolerant to, it causes “inflammation and delayed onset allergic reactions,” which could include allergic rhinitis and migraine, among others. “It could possibly lead to chronic health conditions in the future,” she added.
She went on that in her case, any inflammation in her body “may have been a reason for infertility and other effects that may trigger a reaction that could worsen my APAS condition and lead to further complications in my pregnancy.”
Quiambao previously shared she suffered from Obstetric APAS/APS (Antiphospholipid Antibody), which is an autoimmune disorder associated with pregnancy complications.
