The ‘learning curve’ in Adam Levine’s parenting chores

While Adam Levine “loves everything” about parenting, the pop-rock artist admitted that there’s definitely “a learning curve.”

Now a father of two girls, Adam has realized that if he’s to become a decent parent, at the very least, his personal needs have to take a backseat.

“You have to put yourself so far down the list,” he said in an interview with the Daily Mirror.
“It’s a shock just how much you worry when you have kids. It’s all-consuming, these new lives you’re suddenly responsible for. You realize that you couldn’t possibly matter less in the equation. But that’s really healthy,” he added.

The Maroon 5 frontman and his wife, top model Behati Prinsloo, are hands-on parents to Dustin Rose, 2, and Gio Grace, 1.

“I’m excited about dishing out discipline,” said Adam, adding that their firstborn is starting to “misbehave.” “I can’t wait. I’m going to be quite strict. I have got to be the bad-cop parent, because Behati gets played the whole time.”

Couple time

The couple’s lives are now “99 percent” about the kids.

But it’s still important, Adam said, to make time for themselves.

“That’s a survival thing for a relationship… You have to fit couple time in, and we do,” he stressed. “You have to escape the madness sometimes, and we’re pretty good at keeping a life for ourselves.”—ALLAN POLICARPIO
