Fred Lo: It’s an awesome time to be a geek

Hong Kong Disneyland actor Fred Lo is a certified comic book and cartoon geek. It’s just right that the fantasy-driven properties are finally gaining acceptance from more enthralled fans all over the world, too, he told the Inquirer.

“There are regular fans who like stuff, and there are hardcore geeks who know every bit of trivia there is in the world. Nothing wrong with either, or even being in the middle,” said the actor, who collects toys and related merchandise, and cosplays his favorite characters.

“It’s an awesome time to be a geek in today’s world,” added Fred. “Superhero movies are coming one after the other, merchandise [sales] are at an all-time high and so many conventions in the world connect the superhero celebrities with fans. It’s terrible for a geek’s wallet, but just marvelous for a geek’s heart.”—OLIVER PULUMBARIT
