MANILA, Philippines — Pop-punk band Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus and rock band All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth have joined forces to form a new band called Simple Creatures and have released their first single “Drug.”

The pair announced the news on Thursday through a tweet on their new official Twitter account.

“Hi. We are Simple Creatures. We just woke up from a very long sleep. We have so much to tell you, but for the moment, all we can say is that we are glad you are here,” the tweet read.

Simple Creatures also dropped their first single titled “Drug” with a lyric video posted on Youtube.

Gaskarth expressed excitement to unveil this new band, saying: “This has been an insane journey. So unbelievably proud and excited to get this into the world. @markhoppus and I are here for you.”

Hoppus, on the other hand, said their debut EP is already on its way and will be released in March 2019.

“People!! So stoked to finally share this secret with the world. Alex and I started a band called @simplecreatures and our first single “Drug” is out Friday everywhere but you can listen to it here now! EP1 out in March,” Hoppus said in a tweet.

Hoppus is the bassist, vocalist and last remaining original member of Blink-182, while Gaskarth is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of All Time Low. /kga
