Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino moved to September

The 2019 edition of the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) will no longer be screened in August, but in September, to serve as the launchpad of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Philippine Cinema.

This year, it will be held from Sept. 11 to 17 with the approval of the National Cinema Association of the Philippines (NCAP), Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chair Liza Diño announced recently.


Changes will also be implemented in the selection of the eight official film entries this year, the FDCP chief added.

A flagship program of the FDCP, the PPP is a weeklong celebration that exclusively screens quality Filipino films of different genres in all theaters nationwide.—MARINEL R. CRUZ
