‘Fantastica,’ ‘Jack Em Popoy’ lead MMFF 2018 box office

MANILA, Philippines — “Fantastica” starring Vice Ganda and “Jack Em Popoy” starring Coco Martin, Maine Mendoza, and Vic Sotto have been leading the Metro Manila Film Festival 2018 box office.

“As expected, ‘yung mga pelikula ni Vice Ganda at saka ni Coco Martin at Vic Sotto ang nangunguna sa takilya,” MMFF spokesperson Noel Ferrer said in an interview with DZMM on Wednesday.

Further, he said: “The large part of the pie, was really that of Vice Ganda and that of Coco Martin and Vic Sotto.”

Meanwhile, following “Fantastica” and “Jac Em Popoy” was horror film “Aurora” starring Anne Curtis.

“Yung pangatlo siguro, well medyo malayo, yung kay Anne Curtis,” Ferrer said.

The eight competing movies at the MMFF are “Fantastica,” “Otlum,” “Aurora,” “Rainbow’s Sunset,” “Mary, Marry Me,” “The Girl In The Orange Dress,” “Jack Em Popoy” and “One Great Love.”

These films that premiered on Christmas Day will run in the cinemas until January 7, 2019.
