TV host Korina Sanchez’s holiday adventures in Pittsburgh, United States involved finding the best bargains with her husband, politician Manuel “Mar” Roxas.
The couple visited Target, a department store known for its low-priced products, during a trip to see a friend in the U.S. city, as seen via Sanchez’s Instagram last Thursday, Dec. 20. Clad in thick clothes, Santos and Roxas did their best to battle the freezing cold brought by the below-zero temperature.
“Sabi ni husband maglagay ako ng tapa ojo (blinders ng kabayo) bago kami pumasok,” Sanchez wrote in a separate post, sharing what her husband told her to discourage her from spending too much. “Kasi kakarating lang daw namin dito baka container van ang kasunod namin pauwi.”
(My husband told me I should wear horse blinders before we go in. Because we just got here and there is a possibility that we will be followed by a container van on our way home.)
In another post, Sanchez shared that Roxas brought her a pair of slippers with bells at Target. “So tuwing naglalakad ako, the bells jingle. Nagsisisi na sya (Everytime I walk, the bells jingle. He is now regretting [his decision of buying me the slippers]),” she wrote.
Since they were already in the area, the couple also paid TJ Maxx a visit yesterday, Dec. 22. She recounted she once got great deals after buying an inexpensive Valentino bag and a pair of Nike shoes from the store known for selling designer goods also at low rates.
Contrary to what some people probably believe, Korina stated her husband “doesn’t really like fancy places.” Roxas, instead, prefers local restaurants flocked by middle-class Americans like Downey’s House which they discovered.
She also divulged that her husband misses the days when men can get their haircut from barber shops instead of salons.
Today, as they leave Pittsburgh, they had the chance to witness snow.
“On the day we leave, Pittsburgh gifts us with a dusting of blessings,” the thankful Sanchez said. JB
