Lotlot de Leon speaks up on relationship with mom Nora Aunor
Following Nora Aunor’s absence from her wedding day, Lotlot de Leon opened up about her relationship with her adoptive mom which has been strained at some points, over the years.

De Leon tied the knot with her longtime partner Fadi El Soury on Monday, Dec. 17 in Batangas. Her adoptive father, Christopher de Leon and her own children showed their full support for her in the classy garden wedding.

The Superstar was sadly missing in action, and today, Dec. 20, de Leon bared her feelings regarding their relationship in an Instagram post. She shared a black-and-white picture from her childhood where she is being carried by a woman, and her mom in a midriff-baring top has her arm around her.

She said it had been on her mind to make a statement about Aunor and felt that even if she said good things about her mom, people would find fault with her. However, she decided to go through with it because the message was meant for no one but her mother.
De Leon said she knew early on that she was “ampon ni Nora” or Nora’s adopted daughter, as she was constantly told.
She recalled Aunor’s hard work to provide for them: “Ang mommy ko ang bread winner sa pamilya nag sumikap na iahon lahat ng mahal nya sa buhay.”
(My mommy was the breadwinner of the family who worked hard to nurture her loved ones in life.)
“My mom has been through a lot in her life. Nakita ko at witness ako sa lahat ng pinagdaanan nya,” she said. (I saw and witnessed all that she went through.)
“Matibay sya. Kahit kailan hindi nya ipinakita sa aming magkakapatid na nawalan sya ng pag asa sa buhay kahit alam namin na nasasaktan sya.” (She’s resilient. She never showed my siblings and me that she had lost hope in life even if we knew she was hurting.)
“She tried her best to do her duties as a present mom. Nung nag ka pamilya ako tsaka ko lang naintindihan ang mga payo at sakripsyo na ginawa din nya,” she said.
(Only when I had a family did I understand her advice and the sacrifices she made for us.)
“Lage nyang bilin magmahalan kame magkakapatid at yun ay ginawa ko sa abot ng aking makakaya,” she shared. (She always told us siblings to love one another and I did that the best I could.)
“Hindi ko na ididitelaye ang mga kaganapan sa buhay namin. Pero kung may tao mang importante na gusto ko din maging bahagi sa mahahalagang okasyon sa buhay ko at buhay ng mga anak ko ay sya,” de Leon said.
(I won’t go into detail about the happenings in our lives. But if there’s an important person whom I would want to be a part of important occasions in my life and in that of my children, it would be her.)
“May mga bagay na mahirap ipaliwanag pero sa isang parte lang ako sigurado. Mahal ko sya at alam ko mahal nya din ako kame ng mga kapatid ko,” she said.
(There are things that are hard to explain but I’m sure of one thing only. I love her and she loves me and my siblings.)
Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon married in 1975 and had their marriage annulled in 1996. They have one biological child, Ian, and four adopted children: Lotlot, Matet, Kiko and Kenneth. JB
