Actor Jericho Rosales revealed that having a baby is not part of his immediate plans, although stressing, he “loves kids.”

“I’m also a kid at heart, but Kim (Jones, his wife) and I have decided that we aren’t ready yet to have one,” Jericho pointed out. “We feel that as a married couple, we still have a lot to learn about each other. We want to enjoy our time together first. There’s no need to rush.”

He also said they would oftentimes observe close friends like Iya and Drew Arellano, and  Judy Ann and Ryan Agoncillo whenever these couples were with their kids. “Being a parent is a full-time job. We know we won’t be able to give it our all just yet. We don’t want to force it, and put undue pressure on the marriage, just because this is what’s perceived to be the norm.”

Jericho added: “We don’t feel lacking because we have many nephews and nieces. Plus, we hardly have any time for anything else. Kim just recently launched her second collection for [the brand] The Fore, while I am busy with the show (‘Halik’).”

In fact, the actor said he had to pass on some movie offers because “Halik” had been taking so much of his time. Jericho is also busy promoting Jay Abello’s romantic film “The Girl In the Orange Dress,” with Jessy Mendiola in the title role.

Coproduced by Quantum Films, Star Cinema and MJM Productions, “The Girl in the Orange Dress” is an official entry in the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival, which begins its run on Christmas Day.

Jericho is now the subject of heated discussions in social media because of his character Lino in the drama series, “Halik.”

“I don’t want to be hated by people who admit to being a kabit. I approach everything with love and understanding,” declared the actor.

“I’ve always believed that every girl should be prioritized, should be No. 1,” Jericho pointed out. “We do not encourage them to be mistresses. We don’t want anyone to be ‘living in secret.’ That’s a difficult life.”

In the show, Lino is married to Yam Concepcion’s character, Jade, who is having an affair with Sam Milby’s Ace. The latter is the husband of Yen Santos’ character, Jacky, who is Lino’s childhood best friend.

Jericho said he noticed that despite the show having too many plot twists, viewers had remained engaged to it and were eagerly waiting for the story to unravel.

The actor stressed that the program, no matter how controversial, had an important mission. “It is to show unconditional love,” he declared. “We also want to prove that we do not condone violence against women. People have remained glued to it because they want to see how Lino would react to Jade cheating on him. I told everyone in the program that we should be clear on this—Lino will not lay a finger on Jade. It was also the request of my wife (Kim) to add this topic to the story.”

Asked about his love scene with Jessy in the movie “The Girl in the Orange Dress,” he answered: “It was OK. I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all.”

“I’ve done more love scenes as an actor than I can remember,” he added. “Ours is a wholesome movie, so our love scene is neither complicated nor distasteful.”

Jessy plays Anna, a conservative girl who wakes up in a five-star hotel with Rye (Jericho), a famous actor, and has no memory of how she ended up in such a situation.

She now has to play hide-and-seek with the paparazzi outside the hotel, as well as Rye’s supporters, who include her own best friend.
