Comedian Ethel Booba turned 42 (although she insists she’s only 18) last Dec. 17, a momentous affair that saw her take a break from regularly throwing shade on Twitter to celebrate with her family and friends. It seems, however, that Ethel is not satisfied by the number of people who greeted her on her special day, lamenting in a Twitter video that only 37 people wished her a happy birthday.
The disproportionate figure did not check out, considering she has at least 1.3 million Twitter followers, whom the funnywoman called out in jest in her video.
“Hoy mga BOOBArians 1.3 million kayo diba, batiin niyo naman ako birthday ko,” she said in front of the camera while holding a cake with a huge candle.
“37 pa lang kasi ang nag-g-greet sa’kin… Okay mag-wi-wish ako… Sana maging 38 na kayo.”

Many of her fans took to her post in which they wished her a happy birthday, with some citing that the events of the day overshadowed her birthday, such as Catriona Gray’s win at Miss Universe 2018. She also received greetings from musician Jim Paredes and Senator JV Ejercito.
“Sorry Bacs, nabusy ako sa national issues at kay Catriona,” wrote one MP (@WomanityMP) on Dec. 17. “Happiest birthday Ethel. Stay beautiful, witty and compassionate!!!”
“Happy birthday @IamEthylGabison! Pang 39 ako. Charot,” said another (@Revologel) in jest.
Ethel shared another video on the same day that showed her loved ones singing happy birthday. In the end, her nephews and nieces can be seen giving her kisses on the cheek.
“Happy 18th Birthday to me,” she quipped.
